DevOps Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer, with strong skills and proven experience, who is ready to dive into AVA team, for a full-time engagement, to join our team of passionate IT professionals, here in our Belgrade office. AVA is an award-winning startup company based in Zurich. They have recently launched a novel wearable device that has the potential to significantly increase the quality of life for millions of women. The core of their business is smart algorithms which exactly and reliably predict a woman’s fertile days.



    • Configure, run, maintain and improve Ava’s production and staging environments
    • Collaborate with developers, architects and QA engineers with a focus on configuration and release
    • Contribute to software architecture design with a focus on security, scalability, maintainability, cost and
    • Develop and implement strategies for reliability improvements, disaster recovery and backups
    • Implement an infrastructure for build automation, continuous integration and deployment and contribute
      to a full toolchain automation throughout Ava’s product development process
    • Work with a wide range of technologies and tools, such as Python, Java, MySQL, MongoDB, AWS, Jenkins,
      Bitbucket and Jira
    • Ensure operations of various internal tools at Ava and support different teams (certificate and VPN
      management, user management, etc.)



    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
    • +3 years as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
    • Previous experience with AWS and related services (EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, Lambda, CloudWatch) required, AWS
      certification preferred
    • Good knowledge of software design and architectural patterns
    • Excellent knowledge of Unix/Linux, Python and Bash or another scripting language
    • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, ideally MySQL and MongoDB
    • Experience with at least 2 of the following services/tools: git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Jira,
    • Willingness to work flexibly, in an interdisciplinary and international environment, depending on the current
      project status
    • Strong analytical skills and process-oriented work style with a structured, independent approach to work
      and focus on getting things done
    • Strong communication skills, stress-resistant, even in fast-paced and busy situations
